Clicktide Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy Section for SMS Messaging
SMS Communications. A participating business may use text messaging (SMS), delivered through Clicktide, to communicate with its customers regarding loyalty rewards, appreciation messages, satisfaction surveys, win-back check-ins, visit reminders, and gift or order updates. By providing your phone number and opting in — on the business's Clicktide check-in page or in person at the business — you consent to receive SMS messages from that business.
Message frequency may vary based on your activity with the business. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message, and reply HELP for help.
Data Use and Sharing. Your contact information, including your mobile number and opt-in consent, will only be used to deliver the messages you requested from that business and will not be sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Clicktide may share limited data with contracted service providers solely for the purpose of delivering these messages (for example, Twilio). Full details are in Section 5 below and in the SMS Program Policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account, including name, email, phone number, business name, business contact details, address, billing selections, campaign settings, uploaded files, logos, and support messages.
We may collect customer information that you upload or sync from connected platforms, such as customer names, emails, phone numbers, purchase history, visit history, order information, loyalty status, campaign eligibility, and gift delivery details.
2. Information from connected services
When you connect a point-of-sale, commerce, payment, scheduling, email, SMS, or fulfillment provider, we receive information allowed by that provider and authorized by you. This may include transaction, customer, subscription, product, appointment, or campaign data needed to operate Clicktide.
Platform connections are made through each provider's official OAuth authorization flow — Clicktide never receives or stores your platform password. Where the provider supports it, Clicktide requests read-only permissions limited to viewing sales and customer information: Clicktide cannot move funds, issue refunds, or modify products, prices, or settings inside your point-of-sale or commerce platform. Access tokens are stored securely, and you may revoke Clicktide's access at any time from your Clicktide settings or from the provider's own dashboard.
3. How we use information
- To create and manage your account.
- To operate customer messaging, retention, loyalty, win-back, and gift campaigns.
- To process checkout, subscriptions, invoices, usage, gift wallet activity, and billing.
- To connect with third-party platforms you authorize.
- To provide analytics, ROI estimates, campaign recommendations, and support.
- To protect the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and comply with law.
4. Customer data responsibilities
Your business is responsible for having the required rights, consent, notice, or lawful basis to upload, sync, and use customer information with Clicktide. You are also responsible for honoring customer opt-outs and communication preferences where required.
5. SMS and text message data
If a business uses Clicktide to send SMS or text messages, we may process customer mobile numbers, consent status, opt-in timestamps, message content, delivery status, replies, opt-out requests, and related carrier or provider records. Text messages may be sent through providers such as Twilio.
Businesses using Clicktide may send text messages to customers who have given express consent to receive them. Message types may include loyalty and appreciation messages, satisfaction surveys, win-back check-ins, gift notifications, mailing-address requests for gifts, and delivery updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Businesses are responsible for collecting valid consent before sending text messages. Customers may opt out by replying STOP, or request help by replying HELP where supported. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell customer mobile numbers, and we do not share mobile opt-in data or consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
6. Gift mailing addresses
When a business sends a physical gift or postcard through Clicktide and no mailing address is on file for a customer, Clicktide may, on the business's behalf, invite that customer by text or email to provide a mailing address through a secure, single-purpose form. Mailing addresses may also be received from platforms the business has connected (for example, order shipping addresses). Mailing addresses are used only to deliver mail and gifts from that business, are stored on that business's customer records, and are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Sharing information
We share information with service providers that help operate Clicktide, including hosting, database, payment processing, email, SMS, analytics, platform integrations, shipping, and fulfillment providers. We may also share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
8. Payments
Payment information is processed by Stripe or another payment processor. Clicktide does not store full payment card numbers. Payment processors handle payment data under their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Data retention
We retain information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. You may request deletion of account data, subject to lawful retention requirements and technical limitations.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your choices
You can update account information in the dashboard, disconnect integrations, stop campaigns, request export or deletion where available, and contact us for privacy questions. Customers who receive messages from a business should contact that business or use the opt-out method provided in the message.
12. Children's privacy
Clicktide is not intended for children under 13, and businesses should not upload children's personal information unless they have all required legal authority and safeguards.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting an updated date or providing in-app notice.
